Formlabs Materials

Versatile & reliable engineering resins and powders formulated to help you reduce costs, iterate faster, and bring better experiences to market.

General Use Resins

General-use resins are perfect for parts and prototypes where surface finish, color, or fine details are important.  Draft Resin prints UP TO FOUR TIMES FASTER than Formlabs standard materials, making it ideal for initial prototypes and rapid iterations to help bring products to market faster. Clear Resin prints with near-optical transparency.  The Color Kit unlocks the first integrated color-mixing solution for resin, capable of creating any color!  Choose Grey Pro for a more durable general-use part, or check out one of the other engineering categories to expand on specific material properties.

Compatible with Form 3+, Form 3L

Ideal material for end-use parts and prototypes including:

Print parts quickly and in any color!

Tough and Durable Resins

Our most robust, functional, and dynamic materials, our family of Tough and Durable Resins can handle compression, stretching, bending, and impacts without breaking. Choose these resins when bending at lower stress levels is preferred to a brittle failure.

Compatible with Form 3+, Form 3L

Ideal material for end-use parts and prototypes including:

Available in three variants:

Tough, Ductile, Impact Resistant

Flexible and elastic resins

Replace outsourcing and molding of silicone, urethane, and rubber parts. With Formlabs 3D printers, it’s possible to produce flexible parts in-house in a matter of hours using our family of Flexible and Elastic Resins.

Compatible with Form 3+, Form 3L

Applications

Available in two variants:

Soft, Pliable, Clear

Rigid Resins

Choose our family of Rigid Resins when prototyping strong and stiff parts that need to resist bending. Parts made from these materials are thermally and chemically resistant and will be dimensionally stable under load, but will experience brittle failure if pushed to their limits.

Compatible with Form 3+, Form 3L

Applications

Available in two glass-filled resin variants:

Stiff, Strong, Heat Resistant

Polyurethane Resins

Produce tough, durable, and long-lasting parts with our Polyurethane Resin family. Break free of the limitations of traditional polyurethane manufacturing with newfound design freedom, reduced production costs, and improved workflow efficiencies. Reduce 3D printing overhead costs with fewer tool changes, setups, and re-prints by leveraging parts ready to withstand repeated functional use and testing

Compatible with Form 3+, Form 3L

Applications

Available in two Tough, Impact-Resistant resin options:

Tough, Durable, Long-Lasting

Specialty Resins

A comprehensive library of materials makes the Form SLA printers capable of addressing a wide range of industry challenges.  Resins in this family can add tremendous value to many engineering and manufacturing challenges.

Compatible with Form 3+, Form 3L

Available Specialty Resins:

Specialized, Industry-Specific, High-Performance

Nylon 12 & Nylon 12 GF Powders

Our Nylon 12 Powder is specifically developed for use on the Fuse 1.  Available with or without Glass Fiber reinforcement.

Compatible with Fuse SLS Printers

When to use Nylon 12

Balancing strength and detail, Nylon 12 Powder is a highly capable material for both functional prototyping and end-use production of complex assemblies and durable parts with high environmental stability.

When to use Nylon 12 GF

A glass-filled material with enhanced stiffness and thermal stability for demanding industrial environments. Choose Nylon 12 GF Powder to produce stiff functional prototypes or end-use parts for applications where structural rigidity and thermal stability are critical.

Tough, Flexible, High Performance

Nylon 11 & Nylon 11 CF Powders

Nylon 11 produces parts with durability and flexibility.  Nylon 11 is available with Carbon Fiber for stronger, stiffer parts.  Compared to Nylon 12 Powder, our Nylon 11 Powder is more flexible, less brittle, and better at printing thin walls.

Compatible with Fuse SLS Printers

When to use Nylon 11

For highly ductile, robust parts, Nylon 11 Powder is our higher performance nylon material for functional prototyping and small batch production.

When to use Nylon 11 CF

Choose Nylon 11 CF (Carbon Fiber) Powder to produce lightweight rigid parts that can withstand repeated impact. Get the best of nylon and carbon fiber with this highly stable, high-performance material, perfect for end-use applications that require both high stiffness and superior strength.

Tough, Flexible, Detailed Features

TPU 90A Powder

Easily create flexible parts that withstand the demands of everyday use. TPU 90A Powder’s high elongation and superior tear strength allow you to produce functional prototypes or durable end-use parts in-house.

Compatible with Fuse SLS Printers

Applications:

Flexible, Tough, and Durable
