SOLIDWORKS PDM Log File User Log-in and Log-out

(PDM Professional only)

Starting with SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional 2025, administrators can track PDM user authentication details (log-in and log-out actions) of a PDM Professional client vault, Web2 server, or Web API server.

The authentication details include the username, the date, and time when the user has logged in and out, and the SOLIDWORKS PDM client (desktop client or Web2).

Setting Logging Operations and Permissions

Note: Logging only begins once the ‘Log-in and Log-out’ checkbox is selected, so past user activity does not exist and will not show in the log after it is enabled. The ‘Log-in and Log-out’ logging is NOT enabled by default, not even for PDM System Administrator (admin).

  1. Open the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration tool (Windows Start > All Apps > SOLIDWORKS PDM > Administration).
  2. Right-click on the PDM Professional vault and select ‘Properties’.
