How to Install SOLIDWORKS Visualize

SOLIDWORKS Visualize is a powerful rendering software which is used to create photo-realistic images and animations of your SOLIDWORKS CAD models. This guide provides detailed steps to install the SOLIDWORKS Visualize using the SOLIDWORKS installation manager.

How to Install SOLIDWORKS Visualize

Licensing

SOLIDWORKS Visualize is installed as a standalone application. This means the software requires a separate serial number other than your core SOLIDWORKS serial number. This allows SOLIDWORKS Visualize to be installed on a separate computer than your core SOLIDWORKS. For example, SOLIDWORKS Visualize can be installed on a marketing user’s computer who needs to create photorealistic images of saved SOLIDWORKS models.

Two desktop versions of SOLIDWORKS Visualize products are available: SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard and SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional. The two products have different capabilities for rendering, input, output, scene preparation, animation, materials, lighting, camera optics, and productivity.

A complimentary seat of SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard is included with each SOLIDWORKS Professional and Premium license on active subscription service. To activate the complimentary seat, you need an additional serial number, which your company’s SOLIDWORKS security admin can find by logging into MyProducts.solidworks.com (only admins have access. You can learn more here).

Network seats of SOLIDWORKS Visualize will have an equal number of complimentary SOLIDWORKS Visualize seats for active subscription network seats of SOLIDWORKS Professional and Premium. Read this guide to add the SOLIDWORKS Visualize serial number to your existing SolidNetWork License Manager (SNL).

SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard or Professional can also be purchased separately from other SOLIDWORKS products by contacting your MLC CAD Systems account rep. A SOLIDWORKS Visualize specific serial number will be provided after your purchase is completed.

Installation

SOLIDWORKS Visualize is installed using the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager.

When installing SOLIDWORKS Visualize on a computer which does not already have another SOLIDWORKS product, the installation manager will display and option to ‘Install on this Computer’. Click Next to proceed.

Activation

For network seats of SOLIDWORKS Visualize, activation is managed on the license server. Once installation is complete on your computer, you can use the software without additional activation requirements.

For standalone seats of SOLIDWORKS Visualize, the software must be activated once installation is complete. The first time the application is launched, the activation prompt will be displayed. Select SOLIDWORKS Visualize from the list to highlight. We recommend using the Automatic over the internet activation method. Enter your email address (if required by the version you are installing) and click Next to activate.
