How to Install SOLIDWORKS Inspection

SOLIDWORKS Inspection is a First Article and in-process inspection solution that streamlines the creation of inspection documentation. With a standalone application and an embedded SOLIDWORKS add-in, SOLIDWORKS Inspection enables you to leverage legacy data regardless of the file type. This guide provides detailed steps to install SOLIDWORKS Inspection using the SOLIDWORKS installation manager.

How to Install SOLIDWORKS Inspection

Licensing

SOLIDWORKS Inspection has two versions (Standard and Professional), which requires a separate serial number other than your core SOLIDWORKS serial number. This means the software requires a separate serial number other than your core SOLIDWORKS serial number. This allows SOLIDWORKS Inspection to be installed on a separate computer other than SOLIDWORKS, such as a quality control user’s computer.

SOLIDWORKS Inspection Standard has a standalone application as well as a SOLIDWORKS add-in that can be used within the SOLIDWORKS interface for PDF, TIFF, and SOLIDWORKS files.

SOLIDWORKS Inspection Professional has the same functionality as Inspection Standard plus allows users to directly input measured values into an Inspection project to reduce time and help eliminate input errors.  The user will have the choice whether to enter the characteristic values by importing them from a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or using a digital caliper and/or manually entering the values.

SOLIDWORKS Inspection Standard or Professional can also be purchased separately from other SOLIDWORKS products by contacting your MLC CAD Systems account rep. A SOLIDWORKS Inspection specific serial number will be provided after your purchase is completed.
