How to Block Log-ins for PDM Vault Maintenance

There are a variety of reasons a PDM administrator may need to prevent access to a PDM vault by blocking PDM user log in, such as updating the software, migrating the PDM Database or PDM Archive to a new location, or to perform troubleshooting.  

Locking the PDM vault by blocking user log in is performed by the ‘admin’ (system administrator) user in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration application. Please note that blocking the log-ins does not remove currently logged in users. Any user logged in prior to this action will remain in the vault. To verify which users are logged in, review the License Usage tab of the SolidNetWork License manager application on the server or from within the SOLIDWORKS Administration tool under License > License Usage. 

Right-click the vault for which you want to block log-ins, then select ‘Properties’. In the File Vault Properties dialog, click the ‘Block Log-ins’ button. The Block status field will change from Log-ins are permitted to Log-ins are blocked.
