How to Add or Remove Network Serial Numbers
This guide contains detailed information for adding or removing SOLIDWORKS network product serial numbers using the SolidNetWork License Manager (SNL).
Removing Serial Numbers Requires Deactivation First
If you are removing a serial number, it must first be deactivated from within the SNL.
1. In the SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager (SNL) server edition, on the Server Administration tab, select Modify.
2. Select ‘Move your product license(s) to a new/upgraded computer’ and then click Next.
3. In the License Server Information screen, leave the existing information and click Next.
4. Select the product serial number, choose your activation method, and then click Next to complete the deactivation process.
5. Click Next and wait for the deactivation to complete. On the Deactivation Successful screen, click Finish to return to the SNL.
How to Add or Remove Serial Numbers (2023 and Newer)
For SOLIDWORKS 2023 and newer versions, serial numbers can be added or removed within the SolidNetWork License Manager (SNL) server edition (the license manager installed on the server).
1. Select Modify.
2. Select ‘Activate/Reactivate your product license(s)’ and then click Next.
3. In the License Server Information screen, leave the existing information and click Next.
- Add a serial number, click Add to open the ‘Add Serial Numbers’ dialog. Paste in or enter manually the SOLIDWORKS product serial number into the newly opened dialog. Click OK to return to the Activate/Deactivate your product(s) dialog.
- Remove a serial number, select a serial number from the list and then click ‘Remove’. Note, you must select a serial number from remove to be available. At the time of this article, there is not a confirmation for removal. If you select a serial number and click Remove, then the number is removed from the list without confirmation.
4. Choose your activation method and click Next to complete the Add or Removal.
5. Activation/Reactivation Succeeded. Click Finish.
How to Add or Remove Serial Numbers (all versions)
1. Navigate to the Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, right-click on ‘SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager’ and select ‘Change’ from the list.
2. In the newly opened SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager Setup welcome screen, click Next to proceed.
3. Select Modify and then click Next.
4. In the ‘Enter your SolidNetWork Serial Number(s) here’ field, add or remove a SOLIDWORKS network product serial number. Serial numbers are separated by commas. Click Next to proceed.
5. On the Ready to Repair the Program screen, click Install to complete the modify process.
6. On the completion screen, click Finish to close the setup dialog.
7. Newly added serial numbers will need activated before use by selecting Activate/Reactivate your product license(s) and following the instructions.
