3DEXPERIENCE Two Factor Authentication 2FA

As part of their commitment to enhance the security of your account and protect your data, starting July 8, 2025, Dassault Systèmes now requires users to apply Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for 3DS applications and DSx.Client Care & Order. 2FA is a standard that adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second verification step when signing into your account.

This document is a guideline on how to activate your 2FA using a mobile app like Google Authenticator or using a computer app.

Section 1 details setting up the 2FA on a mobile device (recommended and most common)

Section 2 details setting up a computer authenticator instead of a mobile device.

Section 1: Setting up 2FA on a Mobile Device

  1. Download and install a Mobile Authenticator. This example uses Google Authenticator. Other tools such as Microsoft Authenticator, Okta, and other mobile authenticators can also be used. See Section 2 for an alternative method which does not require a mobile device.

Section 2: Setting up a Computer Authenticator

This section details how to activate 2-Factor Authentication on a computer as an alternative to a mobile device. Dassault Systèmes recommends the use of KeePasXC, which is an open-source password manager that can be used on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Other Time-Based One-Time Password applications can also be used.

This example uses KeePassXC as the authenticator application.

  1. Download and install KeePassXC (open source passwords manager) The default install options are sufficient for the purposes of this guide. Consult your IT professional for information pertaining to the install and management of KeePassXC or other authentication applications.

  1. Now that the key is configured, it’s time to test it out. This step is time sensitive. Double-click the clock icon next to the key entry to generate the authentication code. The code will be copied to your clipboard automatically—you will not see the code—and then you’ll have 10-seconds to paste the code either into the Dassault Systèmes 2-Factor Authentication. Watch the timer on the lower right of KeePassXC.
