Shot Peen Full Round Deburr – Tips & Tricks for the Mastercam Mill Programmer

When you need to add a fully rounded edge finish to part geometry it can be difficult to program multiple passes of a spherical mill, especially on parts with non-planar edges. The deburr toolpath has been enhanced with the 2022 release of Mastercam to include the ability to create full-round edge breaks that may also be known as a Shot Peen deburr. Use a spherical tool and post in either 3- or 5-axis that can meet any edge finish specification.

David began his career in manufacturing in 2003 working for a small custom guitar maker in Puyallup Washington. He received an Associates Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Clover Park Technical College in 2006. David worked in machine shops specializing in aerospace until joining MLC CAD Systems as a Mastercam Application Expert in 2016.
