Markforged FX20
The biggest, fastest, and most sophisticated 3D Printer Markforged has ever developed.
Big Leagues
FX20 is the biggest, fastest, smartest printer in the Markforged lineup. Engineered to deliver maximum strength, accuracy, and consistency, FX20 produces mission-critical parts for the most demanding applications, from the factory floor to the skies and beyond. Replace long lead-time metals with high-temperature thermoplastics and continuous fiber reinforced composites— with FX20 and the cloud connected, continuously learning Digital Forge platform, globally distributed production at the click of a button is now a reality.
Built Around Continous Fiber Reinforcement
Built for Functional Requirements
Accurate and Reliable
Markforged composite 3D printers reliably yield accurate parts with excellent surface finish. Their precision-machined hardware, advanced sensors, and unique software drive first-class customer results.
Materials
ULTEM™ 9085 Filament
Ultra high performance PEI thermoplastic compatible with continuous carbon fiber
ULTEM™ 9085 Filament is Markforged’s first high temperature printing polymer. It’s an extremely durable thermoplastic that exhibits excellent flame, smoke, and toxicity (FST) characteristics. Usable in production aerospace applications, ULTEM™ Filament brings Markforged’s CFR technology to a new realm of parts. ULTEM™ Filament is available in Markforged’s new 3200cc XL spool — four times larger than Markforged’s standard spools.
ONYX
Nylon mixed with chopped carbon fiber offers a high-strength thermoplastic
Designed to combine the toughness and durability of Nylon with the dimensional stability and strength of composites, Onyx is the world’s most capable 3D printing plastic.
ONYX ESD
Stronger, stiffer, and ESD resistant Onyx variant for industrial applications
Onyx ESD is the among most advanced polymers Markforged has ever developed. It’s precision-engineered to possess an extremely tight range of surface resistance — meeting ESD-safe requirements of the most stringent manufacturers — while offering the same industry leading benefits that Onyx offers. In fact, it’s actually stronger and stiffer than Onyx with the same near perfect surface finish, making it the go-to material for advanced applications.
ONYX FR (Flame Retardant)
V-0 rated nylon filled with chopped carbon fiber designed for strong, lightweight, flame-retardant parts
Onyx FR should be used to print parts that need high-strength, low-weight, and flame-retardant properties. Such applications include: aerospace, automotive parts, and electronic housings.
NYLON WHITE
It’s now possible to print in Nylon and Onyx on the same printhead
Nylon White is an engineering thermoplastic that is non abrasive and can be stiffened with any of our continuous fiber options. It’s a versatile material both with and without reinforcing fibers.
CARBON FIBER
Markforged’s strongest fiber with the highest strength-to-weight ratio
Stronger than 6061 Aluminum and 40% lighter — Continuous Carbon Fiber parts stand up to the toughest applications. Because of its very high stiffness and strength it is widely used in the aerospace and automotive industries.
CARBON FIBER FR (Flame Retardent)
The backbone of flight-ready 3D printed composites
Carbon Fiber FR is a flame-retardant variant of Markforged’s unique, ultra-high-strength Continuous Carbon Fiber — when used to reinforce a Composite Base material like Onyx FR, it can yield parts as strong as 6061-T6 Aluminum.
KEVLAR
Tough, lightweight, and can bend further than any other fiber
Kevlar is best utilized in parts that will take a beating. Its low density and high durability make it a great option for applications involving a lot of motion or interfacing with production parts.
HSHT FIBERGLASS
Delivers the highest impact resistance and heat deflection temperature of Markforged’s continuous fibers
High Strength High Temperature (HSHT) Fiberglass provides superior heat resistance and a flexural strength that is second only to carbon fiber. HSHT fiberglass is ideal for applications requiring high heat and impact resistance or high elasticity.
FIBERGLASS
Inexpensive and 11 times stiffer than ABS
Fiberglass reinforced Onyx composites are as strong as metal – 20x stiffer and stronger than typical 3D printed parts. Fiberglass is traditionally used in composites for boat, automobile, and aircraft manufacture.
