Z-Axis Calibration Utility

The Markforged Industrial Series of 3D Printers has an integrated Z-Axis Calibration Utility that can be executed from the printer’s touch-screen interface. A similar but shorter calibration routine is run before each print job to confirm an unobstructed range of motion, and to confirm no major issues exist in the accuracy of the bed height. This standalone calibration utility is more accurate and will offset any problems for more accuracy in future prints.

To begin the calibration, navigate on the touchscreen to Menu – Utilities – Maintenance – Gantry Maintenance – Z Calibration. The utility will take up to 1 hour to complete and will establish thermal stability inside the print chamber and bed before proceeding. Once complete, you can be confident the printer z-axis accuracy through the entire range of motion is highly accurate. Any wear or physical errors will have software compensation applied to ensure it maintains accuracy throughout a long and productive life.
