How to Adjust Laser Offset on Markforged Industrial 3D Printer

The laser offset should be adjusted on an Industrial Series printer any time you change out the print head. The process includes a test print, followed by an adjustment routine; completing the utility will correctly set the laser height.

Ensure that you have Onyx and either carbon fiber (for X7) or fiberglass (for X5) loaded into your printer before proceeding — Nylon White is too reflective to be used for this purpose, and will lead to an incorrectly calibrated laser.

In the Menu – Utilities – Print Head Alignment – Laser-Guided Offsets, the utility will print a sample part to test and calibrate the laser. Follow the menu prompts and accept the results to complete this utility and prepare your printer for production.
