3-Axis Debur Toolpath – Tips & Tricks for the Mastercam Mill Programmer

The Debur toolpath is a finishing toolpath included with the Mastercam Multiaxis license. Code can be posted up to 5-axis capabilities but makes short work of cleaning up parts on all of your machines. In this example, this advanced feature makes short work of programming an automatic debur operation on a simple part in a 3-axis mill. Automate these manual operations to improve part consistency and make better use of your operator’s time.
About the author
David began his career in manufacturing in 2003 working for a small custom guitar maker in Puyallup Washington. He received an Associates Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Clover Park Technical College in 2006. David worked in machine shops specializing in aerospace until joining MLC CAD Systems as a Mastercam Application Expert in 2016. David enjoys motorsport, the Pacific Northwest, roller coasters, and currently holds the high score on three of the ten Creature from the Black Lagoon pinball machines located throughout the Puget Sound Area.
